About B.H. Bunn Company
| Back in 1907 the world’s first automatic tying machine was developed by the founder of the company Benjamin H. Bunn. In fact Benjamin was just a teenager at the time but was an inventive sort. His father Romanzo was a hard working postal clerk who believed there had to be a better way to bundle the endless stacks of envelopes and flyers. At the request of his father Benjamin went about developing the prototype of the world’s original “Letter Tying Automatic Turntable Two Wrap Cross Tie Machine” – also known as the number one Bunn. After 3 years of tinkering the prototype was fully perfected. |
| After the first machine sale to the Canadian Post Office in 1910, demand quickly began to spread across the United States for the automatic tying machine. Fast forward over 50 years and in excess of 11,000 automatic tying machines are in operation throughout US Post Offices. With such strong sales and continued expansion the Bunn Company has now developed over 15,000 variations of automatic machines which can be used across almost any industry.
